Most of us know that we get our backgrounds checked routinely by people like employers and housing projects (for renters).
Did you know that the average person has the right to do background checks too.
That is very true. You have the right to do background checks on baby-sitters, contractors, employers, boyfriends, girlfriends, landlords, and people you trust your property or children with.
Doing it properly is critically important to stay out of trouble.
Check with your local County or State offices to see about doing this through the open records departments. Pay your fee and receive the info.
‘NEVER’ get background information from a law enforcement officer on the street. This is against the law and any officer doing this is helping you ‘screw the system’ by giving you information that should be paid for at the open records department. Police officers are to fight crime, … not run around playing ‘ready reference librarians’.
