In my career of loss prevention, I have observed numerous infractions of computer privacy that is brought on by the actual computer owners and operators.
The fact is, … your computer content is protected by local and Federal laws, regardless if it is a personal or business computer.
In years past as a loss prevention professional, I’ve had to enter office buildings with master keys to go into offices and close the window blinds of offices that leave their computers turned on with data displayed on the monitor screens. This is really careless and not fair to the people who’s information have on your computer.
Computers contain vast amounts of information pertaining to finances, health & medical records, employee files, personal communications with others and much more.
Local and Federal laws can’t work for you if you are careless enough to leave anyone see the content. Even police officers need warrants to see information on computers. Protect your data.
